Shehbaz Sharif Orders NDMA to Mobilize Relief in Flood Areas

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued explicit directives to the National Disaster Management Authority, ordering the immediate mobilization of all available state resources to deliver swift assistance and relief to citizens in flood-affected regions across the nation.

According to Dawn Pakistan, referencing an official press statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the premier issued these instructions on Saturday during a high-level meeting with NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik. The meeting was held to review ongoing humanitarian measures and disaster management readiness.

During the session, Prime Minister Sharif stressed that no effort should be spared in facilitating citizens facing severe difficulties due to floodwaters. He mandated that the authority utilize every available resource to ensure emergency relief supplies, medical assistance, and temporary shelter reach the affected populations without any administrative bottlenecks.

The National Disaster Management Authority serves as Pakistan's executive federal body overseeing emergency management, disaster risk reduction, and relief coordination. Lieutenant General Malik briefed the prime minister on ground conditions, disaster management operations, and federal coordination strategies aimed at mitigating the impact on local communities.
