PM Shehbaz Directs NDMA to Maximize Flood Relief Aid

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued comprehensive instructions to the National Disaster Management Authority, directing the organization to provide maximum relief and rehabilitation assistance to populations impacted by flooding. The head of government emphasized that emergency response teams must work efficiently to ensure swift delivery of aid, essential supplies, and medical support to vulnerable communities affected by recent monsoon inundations across the country.

During his visit to review disaster readiness, Prime Minister Sharif commended the implementation of artificial intelligence and modern technological applications at the National Emergencies Operation Centre. He observed that utilizing state-of-the-art predictive tools and digital monitoring systems significantly enhances Pakistan's capacity to forecast extreme weather events, track disaster developments, and deploy resources preemptively.

According to Express Tribune Pakistan, the prime minister highlighted that technology-driven operations represent a crucial shift toward data-based disaster management. The integration of advanced analytics at the NEOC enables federal and provincial agencies to coordinate more effectively, assess structural damage rapidly, and streamline emergency relief logistics during large-scale climate emergencies.

The prime minister instructed emergency authorities to maintain continuous vigilance and coordinate closely with local administrations in affected districts. Relief operations are expected to prioritize displaced families, rescue efforts, and the prompt restoration of critical infrastructure to mitigate long-term economic and human losses resulting from the severe flood conditions.
