Asim Munir Hosts Independence Day Reception for Army Veterans

Distinguished former military leadership assembled during national holiday commemorations as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir hosted a special reception in honor of Pakistan Army veterans on the occasion of Independence Day. The gathering offered a formal platform to recognize retired personnel for their decades of commitment to the nation.

According to an official statement released by the military’s media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Saturday, the army chief expressed profound gratitude for the lifelong services rendered by former soldiers. Field Marshal Munir praised their pivotal efforts in safeguarding the country's borders and acknowledged their enduring contributions toward building national resilience.

Addressing the attendees, Field Marshal Munir emphasized that the deep experience, practical wisdom, and ongoing involvement of veteran officers represent a vital institutional asset for the military. He pointed out that such guidance remains particularly critical as Pakistan works to navigate an increasingly complex, dynamic, and evolving security environment.

Among the prominent retired commanders present at the gathering were former chiefs of army staff General (retd) Raheel Sharif and General (retd) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, along with former Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. As reported by Business Recorder, the ceremony brought together key military figures from previous leadership tenures.
