4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Dalbandin in Balochistan

Residents across the Dalbandin district of Balochistan experienced mild seismic tremors on Saturday morning after an earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale struck the area. Official data released by the Seismological Center confirmed that the earthquake originated at a depth of 35 kilometers below the surface, with its epicenter identified approximately 100 kilometers southwest of the main town of Dalbandin.

As reported by Business Recorder, the sudden shaking triggered brief panic among local citizens in the affected parts of the district. However, preliminary evaluations conducted by regional emergency services and local officials confirmed that the tremor resulted in no loss of human life or destruction of property.

Following the incident, representatives from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) announced that the agency is closely monitoring the situation across the province. The PDMA stated that continuous coordination and direct contact are being maintained with the district administration to track any further developments or reported emergencies.

Balochistan has witnessed repeated seismic tremors in recent weeks. Earlier on August 12, 2026, a stronger earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale shook both the Zhob and Chaman districts. According to the Seismological Center, that earlier event was recorded at a depth of 15 kilometers, with its epicenter located around 122 kilometers northeast of Zhob.

Disaster management bodies and local administrative offices in Balochistan remain attentive to seismic developments, keeping communication channels active and operational following the latest tremor in Dalbandin.
