Gaza Oxygen Supply Collapses as 22 Stations Go Offline

Healthcare infrastructure in the Gaza Strip faces an escalating crisis as 22 oxygen production stations have ceased functioning, according to reports from Express Tribune World citing the local Health Ministry. The widespread failure of these facilities has severely compromised the ability of hospitals to provide continuous medical air to patients requiring intensive care.

According to the ministry, the system's capacity to replenish medical supplies has dropped to critically low levels. Out of 30 specialized devices used to fill life-saving oxygen cylinders across the territory, only four machines remain currently operational, drastically bottlenecking distribution efforts.

The breakdown of this critical equipment comes amid a persistent blockade that restricts the flow of essential goods and maintenance materials into Gaza. The severe shortage directly threatens vulnerable patients in emergency wards, surgical suites, and neonatal intensive care units who rely on a constant oxygen supply to survive.

Addressing the dire health emergency, Gaza's Health Ministry urged international authorities to act swiftly to enable the import of necessary technical supplies. Officials emphasized that opening humanitarian crossings and trade channels is imperative to repair broken machinery and bring offline oxygen stations back into service before more lives are lost.

Without immediate access to maintenance parts and new filling units, health authorities warn that the remaining four operational devices could also succumb to strain, causing a total blackout of oxygen supplies across the region's remaining medical centers.
