Rawalpindi Mall Road Shooting Triggers PTI Responsibility Row

State officials and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have engaged in a fiery political dispute following a fatal security encounter on Mall Road in Rawalpindi. During a press conference in Islamabad, Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry stated that the opposition party cannot "absolve themselves of responsibility" after law enforcement officers killed an armed individual who allegedly opened fire on security forces.

According to reports from Dawn Pakistan, state media broadcaster PTV News cited security sources identifying the deceased assailant as an active PTI member residing in Khyber district. Following the reports, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar denounced what he characterized as PTI's "politics of violence."

PTI leadership firmly rejected the accusations and distanced the party from the confrontation. The organization declared that it maintains no connection to acts of terrorism, arguing that government figures are attempting to unfairly frame the party to damage its public standing.

Chaudhry asserted that the event was a direct consequence of political incitement over an extended period. He remarked that party leadership had consistently been cautioned against engaging in the "politics of hatred and anarchy" and warned against influencing young members with extreme viewpoints that lead to reckless behavior.
